About CB Green
About two years ago, members of Wildsight and West Kootenay EcoSociety met at a Provincial Park near Cranbrook to come up with a collaborative approach to inspiring sustainable living throughout the Columbia Basin. We discussed barriers to sustainable choices in the Basin, but ended up realizing our communities were full of individuals, organizations and businesses who were leading the way in sustainability. The only challenge was sharing the information across communities, and looking in our own backyards to find the expertise and inspiration for sustainable living.
We discussed approaches to spreading the word about the sustainable action happening in the Basin, and determined that a comprehensive, searchable database would help centralize the information for residents in the Columbia Basin. And so began the journey to the development of the CB Green Directory.
The idea truly came to fruition when Wildsight and West Kootenay EcoSociety partnered with Columbia Basin Trust to deliver a highly user-friendly on-line directory. The team at bluebeetle creative has helped the directory take shape to become an online hub for sustainable initiatives, organizations, businesses and services.
